Right of Access

Viewing or modifying your data

Most of the personal data that DUO processes about you can be viewed through Mijn DUO. Under the right of access, you may also submit a request to find out which personal data DUO (additionally) processes about you. If your data is incorrect or incomplete, you have the right to correct or supplement it. In some cases, you may also have data deleted.

If you submit an access request on behalf of someone else, we need a copy of an authorization or a document showing legal representation, such as an extract from the custody register.

Within one month of receiving your request, we will send you a written response.

To submit your request, use one of the following forms (only in Dutch):

What you can do yourself

Would you like to report a change to your data, such as your address, phone number, or bank account number? You can do this using our Change Assistant.

Lodging an objection

You can only lodge an objection against the processing of your personal data that DUO carries out as a part of a task performed in the public interest. The tasks of public interest can be found in the GDPR Register of the Dutch Government Link opent externe pagina  (only in Dutch).

By submitting an objection, you ask DUO to stop a specific processing activity of your personal data due to your particular situation.

If you lodge an objection, you must indicate which specific processing you object to and why. DUO will assess whether there are special personal circumstances that require the processing to stop in your case. In most cases, we need the data to perform our tasks and will reject the objection.
